2018 - 2019 Mariana began her Arrangement series during her fourth year at UNT while taking advanced painting classes. This body of work is created by delicately assembling found objects into new ones. Interactive and Installation Art
2017 - 2020 Mariana became interested in interactive and installation art during her third year at UNT while she was taking intermediate painting classes. Early pieces contain elements of family and nostalgia. Offer/Offering, Mariana's most recent piece, has religious, ritualistic, and self-reflective undertones. The piece invites viewers take one of the objects from the plywood forms and replace it with something of equal value. 2015 - 2019 Since starting her Painting and Drawing degree in 2015, Mariana has taken numerous drawing and painting classes at the University of North Texas and Santa Reparata International School of Art and Design. From the beginning of her program, she fell in love with figure drawing and oil painting. Many of her works are studies or representational with elements of family and nostalgia. Prints
2017 - 2019 Mariana was introduced to printmaking during her third year (2017) at UNT in an Intro to Printmaking class. During this time, her prints contained elements of family and nostalgia. Additionally, she created smaller relief prints for the Printmaking Association of North Texas Students' annual print trades and sales. While taking a printmaking class in Florence, Italy (2018), Mariana produced monoprints that were inspired by the many basilicas and religious elements in the local area. In her Intro to Screen Printing class (2019), she produced a series of prints based on the concept of "relationships with food", due to her interest in cooking and the meaning that surrounds it.
